If you thought lingerie was just an undergarment, well think again my friends. Underwear was featured as outerwear in many of the spring 2010 shows, not to mention almost every editorial out there. Even H&M is featuring their holiday lingerie with everyday pieces such as blazers. I love the idea, but I have a feeling some people might take it too far. Remember the Seinfeld episode when Elaine gives Sue Ellen a bra as a gift and she wears it as a top....same deal. Lets hope this trend is worn in moderation.

Maybe I Should Have Been A Dermatologist?
I constantly flip through party photos on style.com, mainly to fuel the jealousy towards all the socialites and celebrities in clothes that I only dream of owning. Every now and then I come across Dr. Lisa Airan, who is always impeccably dressed in everything from Gucci to Rodarte. So I did what anyone else would do...I googled her. Turns out she's a dermatologist in New York, who's made appearances on Oprah and has been featured in Vogue several times. Looks like I should make a career change...

Bad Romance- Lady Gaga
I know it's been out for a while now, and you've most likely watched it, but the "Bad Romance" video by Lady Gaga is well....packed FULL of Gaga antics. Really though, you need to watch the video several times to take in everything. The mesh nails, those super scary enlarged pupil contacts, the Alexander McQueen shoes, the polar bear coat (head included), and those are only the small details...

My rant for today!
This is exactly why I cancelled my subscription to US Vogue. SNOOZEVILLE!! This cover does not make me want to buy the issue. It looks like a stale piece of bread...yuk! And really I LOVE Cate but how many times are we going to put her on the cover?? Same with Drew, Sienna, Kierra, Nicole Kidman, etc. How about a little creativity, instead of the same obvious editorials, celebrities, and covers?

A Marketers Dream
If designers and retail companies havn't caught on yet, well then they need to start paying attention. Almost everything Alexa Chung wears looks remarkable, and comfortable, and well you get the point. She even makes balloons look fashionable. She could wear a plaid and polka dot onesie (feet included) and sell it to me.

LOVE OF MINE
As a wardrobe stylist in Toronto I venture up and down Queen Street quite often. Every time I drive along Queen I break my neck trying to get a good look at the contents of Love Of Mine. (A new accessory/interior design store on Queen West.) I finally cracked, and pulled the car over to get a better look.
Inside I was pleasantly surprised by the quirky charms, and studded cuffs. Some pieces can cost you a couple hundred $$, but by the looks of the quality and love that goes into each piece, it's well worth it. Still not willing to shell out that much for some jewelry? Nooo problem, they have pieces that start at $10
They also have a little bit of everything that an accessory lover like myself would be interested in: scarves, boots, purses, hair accessories...ahhhhh!!!
To add to it all, they also make custom jewelry, in the form of name plate necklaces and 2-finger rings.
Love of mine?? YES!! Love of my wallet?? Uhhh....

GRAFFITI-COUTURE

I wouldn't call myself a comic book nerd fan in any sense of the word, BUT I am in LOVE with this comic styled editorial from French Vogue, featuring Raquel Zimmermann. Designer/illustrator KAWS is the genius behind the graffiti painted walls, and scribbled pages. The shoes in the third last picture make me want to die a little!!

United Bamboo is Purrr-fect

If you are not a friend of the felines then you might want to pass on this post, but if you are....well this is GOLD! Designers Miho Aoki and Thuy Pham of United Bamboo have created a miniature version of their spring 2010 collection and modeled it on CATS!! Better yet...they put it in a calendar. I wonder if there is a body mass/weight requirement for these kitty models, they look pretty skinny to me!

Pink Tartan Spring 2010
Photos from fashionmagazine.com
I wasn't sure what to expect this year from the Pink Tartan show. From the first look, I knew my wallet was in trouble for spring. Forget that the styling was chic, sexy, and cool. The pieces on their own were incredible. Shoulder padded striped shirts and dresses, slick trousers, floor length trench coats, and a to die for gold sequined vest that closed the show. So was it just lil ol' me who swooned over the Pink Tartan collection? Well Lisa Tant, Jeanee Becker, and many other front rowers were tweeting their thumbs off about it, so I'm going to go ahead and call this collection a super success for spring!!
